Globalization Strategies

A truly globalized web site serves every visitor with the same quality experience regardless of location, language, business practices, or cultural issues.

With internet technology you're global from day one. Whether you're General Motors or a small antiques store in Kentucky, the day you go on the internet, everyone can see you. Your customers are no longer the people in your own community. The internet is the most unforgiving medium on the planet. The customer rules, and if you make a mistake they probably won't come back.

This statement is obviously the "Holy Grail" for global e-businesses. However, with hundreds of different countries, thousands of languages and cultures define the global marketplace, most businesses must make decisions about which regions and languages to target. In addition, external factors such as legal issues and business forces will influence the organization's ability to extend its Web operations to serve customers in every locale with equal effectiveness.
